Concrete Base
The inspiration came from the construction of a house basement.
The legs are set in a concrete cast of sandblasted softwood shuttering which is only taken off after twenty four hours and what it leaves is the lovely texture grain in the concrete, it is then brush with three coats of special hardener that reinforced and dust proof it, this technique makes it ideal for inside and outside, with three reed bars going all along inside it for extra strength and support.
The two outside ones are curve to give it more elegance, all welded to a metal frame structure, all sprayed with a silver paint to give it a nice homogeneous finish, ready to support the lovely magical two and a half inches or fifty seven millimeters thick single slab of Cedar of Lebanon.The grain on that piece of wood is accentuated by a generous application of premium Danish oil.
